Paine Proffitt is a well-regarded artist from the Philadelphia area, now based in England. He's worked with the Boston Red Sox, Minor League Baseball, West Bromwich Albion FC, Sunderland AFC, Aberdeen FC, Port Vale FC, Grimsby Town, Aston Villa, Derby County, Nottingham Forest, Brentford and others. Proffitt also has artwork in the permanent collections of The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, The National Pastime Museum, The World Rugby Museum and exhibited at The National Football Museum.
The Toronto Maple Leafs baseball team played at Hanlan's Point (located on the Toronto Islands) from 1897-1926, and then at Maple Leaf Stadium (located at Bathurst and Lakeshore) from 1926 to 1967. The team saw great success over the years and is considered one of the 100 greatest minor league teams of all time. When the team folded after 1967, Toronto was without professional baseball until 1977, when the MLB added the Toronto Blue Jays as part of the 1977 expansion.
