This exceptional image is from a 1955 SPORT magazine photo session for a cover story on Carmen Basilio, the son of an onion farmer from upstate New York who would go on to become welterweight and middleweight champion of the world. Created from the original 4″ by 5″ transparency, the image was one of 61 comprising The Italian Stallions exhibition, part of the 2006 Contact Photo Festival at The SPORT Gallery in Toronto.
Printed on 100% Hahnemuhle cotton rag paper using UltraChrome K3 pigmented inks for the highest available archival quality. Each piece is hand titled and numbered, carries The SPORT Collection emboss and is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity. Mounting, matting and framing are also to the highest archival standards.
Finished image size, 14″ wide by 17″ high. Framed size, 21 3/16″ by 25″.
