1969 Super Bowl III
Champions
Jets vs Baltimore
16 - 7
12 January, 1969
Prior to the game, Joe Namath had guaranteed victory for New York as they faced the Super Bowl favorites Baltimore. Broadway Joe kept his promise, leading New York to a Super Bowl III victory.
1986 Regular Season
The Shootout
Jets vs Miami
51 - 45
21 September, 1986
Perhaps one of the most exciting football games ever to watch, it featured two 1983 first-round draft picks as O'Brien battled Marino in an absoulte shootout. New York WR Wesley Walker scored 4 touchdowns this game including a 21 yard game-tying TD as the clock hit zero to send the contest into overtime as well as the memorable 43 yard strike from O'Brien in OT to cement a New York victory 51-45.
2000 Regular Season
Monday Night Miracle
Jets vs Miami
40 - 37
23 October, 2000
After being down 30-7 to Miami going into the 4th quarter, Vinny Testaverde led New York to an outstanding comeback. Testaverde threw for 235 yards and 4 touchdowns in the 4th quarter alone as New York earned 19 first downs in the quarter compared to Miami who only had one. Down by a touchdown, a crucial 4th and 1 was converted which led to the game-tying touchdown which would send the game into overtime where New York would win off a 40 yard field goal. Not only was this the greatest comeback in New York history, it was voted the greatest comeback in Monday Night Football history.
2011 AFC Divisional Playoff
Beating Brady In January
Jets vs New England
28 - 21
16 January, 2011
The best memory Jets have in recent years was when #6 seed New York led by their tough defense went into Gillete Stadium to play Tom Brady and the #1 seed New England. Only a month beforehand New England had humilated New York 45-3. But this is when it mattered, playoff time in Brady's backyard and New York were victorious.
