A SPORT Gallery Exclusive
Before they were the Maple Leafs, they were the St. Pats (1919-27) and surprisingly enough before that, the team was called the "Arenas (1917-18).
Arenas - The year was 1917. The NHL had just formed, and was expected to only be in existence for a year until the NHA could be reactivated, but it never was. They played at Arena Gardens on Mutual Street and were owned by the Toronto Arena Company. The team, nicknamed the "Torontos," was very succesful in their first year in the NHL. They beat out the Montreal Canadiens in the regular season and went on to face the Vancouver Millionaires in the finals. They won the first Stanley Cup as part of the NHL.
St Pats - After enjoying success as the 'Arenas' the team rebranded and chose the name "St. Pats". The organization would win the Stanley Cup in 1922 against the Vancouver Millionaires. Today, the Toronto Maple Leafs wear the St. Pats throwback jersey every year in March for St. Patricks Day.
Celebrate the famed legacy of the Leafs organization with this distinct Team History snapback cap. The hat features the three logos worn throughout the organizations history embroidered on the crest of the cap—the perfect hat to pass down to future generatons.
