Willie Stargell, affectionately known as "Pops," carried his Pittsburgh Pirates to World Series glory in 1979, hitting three home runs and four doubles over the seven games. He was also a part of the champion '71 team, playing alongside the legendary Roberto Clemente. Stargell was a first-ballot Hall or Famer, and his number was retired by the Pirates back in '82.
